Mandeep Kohli
Mandeep Kohli is the founder and principal architect behind Mandeep Kohli Architects, a design-led architecture and interior studio established in 1986 in Jalandhar, Punjab. With four decades of architectural experience, he leads the practice in delivering thoughtful, context-driven spaces across residential, commercial, and public sectors.
At the heart of his practice is a fundamental philosophy: he is an architect whose design work is directly born out of being an artist first. This artistic vision serves as the core foundation for all of his architectural creations, shaping every structure with intuition and creative intent.
His career is anchored in a natural, born-artist background with deep experience across oil painting, sketching, and photography. This early background in sketching provides a distinct conceptual advantage, allowing him to intuitively visualize and hand-sketch architectural concepts long before formal project execution begins.
Our Design
Process
Mandeep Kohli’s design approach and philosophy center on a meticulous, process-oriented methodology rather than a predefined visual style. He views design as a collaborative journey with clients, guiding projects from site planning and technical design through to interior styling and site execution. His work is strongly guided by a nature-driven process, prioritizing natural lighting, effective ventilation, and an overall harmony with the surrounding environment. Through an organic execution, his approach to space design emphasizes a natural flow that treats architectural form as a direct extension of artistic expression. By balancing structural efficiency with spatial harmony, he ensures every build is perfectly tuned to its function and environment.
Guided by values of respect, honesty, compassion, and professionalism, his studio focuses on crafting tailored environments that optimize spatial movement and durable material palettes. This methodology underpins his extensive project experience and scope, backed by a global and local portfolio that spans diverse domestic and international projects. His practice holds specialized expertise across a wide range of building types, including complex cultural and religious spaces.
